65823 LEDEBOURIA OVATIFOLIA LIL HP TGH PRICE: $ 10.00 Very wide pale green jade-toned fleshy leaves fan out into an open circle over the fat, swollen surface bulb; winter dormant (leafless) if kept quite cool during winter; very slow to offset. Of more botanic than horticultural interest.

65824 LEDEBOURIA PAUCIFLORA LIL HP TGH PRICE: $ 6.50 Wonderful miniature with delicately mottled fleshy leaves on clustering glossy surface bulbs. Lovely undemanding houseplant; always a favorite carefree windowsill citizen; excellent addition to any dish garden and a great visual companion to the more commonly available L. socialis.

65827 LEDEBOURIA SOCIALIS LIL HP TGH PRICE: $ 3.75 Formerly Scilla violacea. "Silver Squill" Rich purple swollen bulblets in thick clusters support small violet- backed leaves whose surfaces are dotted silver. Easy houseplant with small wands of tiny white flowers produced seasonally. If allowed to become a many-headed specimen, the winter blooms can be quite impressive en mass.

65829 LEDEBOURIA SOCIALIS GILA MONSTER LIL HP TGH PRICE: $ 4.75 A lovely olive ovals scattered on ash blue to glaucus green leaves held in bunches over the swollen bulbs which ofset to form a perfect hemisphere. Originally shared with us by Ruth Crane, this beauty is probably a separate species not accurately identified.

65832 LEDEBOURIA [SCILLA] LUTEO-SOCIALIS [HORT] LIL HP TGH PRICE: $5.50 Nomenclature most confused--appearance of a giant Ledebouria pauciflora with floppy freckled foliage; reaches impressive proportions.

56904 LEDEBOURIA VIOLACEA LIL HP TGH PRICE: $ 11.00 This is of wider and of higher turquoise color than the remarkably similar Ledebouria socialis. The aquamarine spots are darker and the plants more erect--we find these distinctions are more easily made if one stands on one's head and squints real hard. We have seen this listed as Scilla violacea also.

60434 LENOPHYLLUM PUSILLUM CRA HP TGH PRICE: $ 4.00 Tight clustered Crassula cousin usually under one inch in height (the yellow-flowered inflorescence might impressively reach another full inch); the fat keeled red-green leaves root where ever they scatter, thus quickly forming a glossy carpet for succulent bonsai. Please be aware that this will probably defoliate during shipping--just scatter the succulent leaflets over the surface of porus soil and they will willing root. If you cannot deal with shattered leaflets, please do not order.

Beautiful low rosettes of soft fleshy foliage richly dappled with color-- perfect for the indoor plant collector. In the South, it could probably even be grown successfully in the rock garden. Note the spotting and thickness of the leaves. The thumbnails on the right are the size (nicely rooted and growing) that we are shipping. Note also the pictures of the more mature plants.

68594 MANGAVE [AGAVE] MACHO MOCHA [HYB] AGA CGH HH PRICE: $ 15.00 The big statured bigeneric hybrid by Carl Schoenfeld involves Manfreda variegata & Agave ceisii. 66774 MANIHOT ESCULENTA VARIEGATA EUPH HP PRICE: $ 15.00 Major rarity, the gorgeous "Variegated Tapioca" has deeply lobed leaves with radiating bright yellow central stripes; the heavy tuberous roots are the stuff of cassava and other starch products. Will insist on going somewhat dormant if kept cool in winter; indeed, we prefer shipping this only during reliably warm months of the year to prevent damage. The second image here shows the plant in mid summer.

65833 ORNITHOGALUM CAUDATUM LIL HP TGH PRICE: $ 4.00 "Sea Onion" or "German Onion" Glossy strap leaves top the ever expanding, ever more impressive opalescent green bulbs (which sit on the surface of the soil) whose sides constantly erupt to give "birth" to new bulblets (produced in clusters under each onion skin of the bulb surface), thus known everywhere as the "Pregnant Onion"; easy first plant for a child. With maturity each big round waxy bulb sends forth a thick stemmed long wand with small white lily flowers striped green. Easy. Easy. Easy. Still remains the most ordered succulent bulb in this section. If you would like to grow a giant statured cousin (the one who took steriods) see Albuca crinifolia listed earlier in this website. Do not confuse with the slow-growing "Climbing Onion," Bowiea volubilis.

65616 ORNITHOGALUM TENUIFOLIUM LIL HP CGH PRICE: $ 4.00 Very showy glossy surface bulbs topped with sweeps of upright slim lf blades & wands of green flowers used for cutting in tropical gardens.
