Bed and Breakfasts
Below are a couple Bed and Breakfasts that are wonderful or different if you would like to make your stay in Southeastern Ohio something a little more interesting.
The Cabin at Chimney Lake is a bed-and-breakfast located in the foothills of the
Appalachians near Athens, Ohio. A three-bedroom log house nestled in the woods, it
overlooks a picturesque six-acre lake and the hills beyond. Whether you are newlyweds looking for romance and seclusion, a group of friends enjoying a peaceful vacation together, or a family
partaking in events at nearby Ohio University, you will find the comfort and quiet of the cabin and its surroundings something to remember. The cabin is owned and operated by chef/baker Matt Rapposelli and his wife, Robin Dewey. Matt owns and operates the award-winning Big Chimney Baking Company, just a stone's throw from the cabin. Bring your appetite!
This is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast with a medieval theme. It is located in New Plymouth, Ohio. "Spend a night in a Castle!" Take a look! They have a wonderful medieval garden with statues from the Glasshouse Works
Below are several interesting plant links for Societies, gardens, and Groups which deal with plants that we offer or with fine plants in general. Take a look at the interesting sites below with gardens and dealing with bonsai, bamboo, ferns and other plants. We recommend the following links (sites dealing with plants or indoor & outdoor gardening):
Below is a great new site which gives basic information to public and private gardens of all sizes. Small specialty private gardens as well as the larger major botanical gardens are featured. If you are travelling, this could be an indispensible aid. See what gardens are in our area, as you are travelling to see us. The site is new, so not every garden is listed; the list is expanding weekly, though.
The link below is to a privately owned and wonderful garden in Strongsville, Ohio. We try to visit each year. Inspiration and hard work have created a wonderland in the midst of modern shopping centers fast paced Americana. Inspired by the gardens of Europe and the love of rare and variegated plants make this one of our favorite spots.
Here is a curious link in the Netherlands, called the The Coleus Finder. It, of course, lists all the basic sources for coleus, including other businesses from ours, but we feel we don't have any real competition in our offerings and we want you to see the range of coleus that do exist as well as how much interest there is in them. Thus, we present the Coleus Finder You will notice we appear a lot in this list! Click on the logo below to view.
We find this plant magazine quite informative. We recommend it highly. Of interest for the plant enthusiast with specific interest. Lots of notes on variegated plants now and then.
We find this Website helpful for all kinds of gardening needs.
